3 The GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test) is designed to help graduate schools of business assess the qualifications of applicants for advanced study in business and management. The GMAT is a computer adaptive test (CAT) that is available, year round at test centres throughout the world. Most of the top B-schools require one to have TOEFL score above 600 in addition to a good GMAT score. Information on the B-schools and their requirements can be got from www.gmat.org. For the GMAT, though the process is very similar to the process for taking the GRE, there are a few differences which are listed below.
a. The admission process of individual business schools requires students to write essays on various topics. This is exclusive to business schools.
b. The proportion of students getting for an MBA is far smaller than those getting aid for an MS. A small numbers gets scholarships from the university, but most of the financing for the students is by loans.
All information regarding the above three exams is available at the site www.ets.org. Educational Testing Service is the organisation that conducts and develops the above examination.
